I've noticed that when I chew gum and afterwards drink water, my mouth gets a cold sensation and I've always wondered why this happens. Does anyone know why? Thanks!

if it's mint gum, then the mint and cold water def will make your mouth feel cold.. if it's not mint gum, it probably has some mouth-cleansing ingredient like those derived from parsley for fresh-breathness.. that might make your mouth cold as well...

After chewing gum, you used so many muscles in the mouth that the blood slows down. This causes the coldness. When you drink the water. Blood is blocked and the coldness of the water cools your mouth so much that you can feel the coolness.

Omg, I always thought that I was the only one this happened too.
I think its because we chew the gum a lot and that it would warm the insides of our mouths.
