I don't know if that's something we should base on groups because hands down, it would be Christians simply because they have bigger numbers. I think if we were looking at percentages, however, we'd find similar percentages of the people who give, who associate themselves with peaceful religions that value humanitarianism. Bill Gates, from my understanding, is an Atheist and he gives a lot ot charity. I also know Buddhists, Hindus, and Pagans who give to charities and humanitarian efforts. We should also distinguish between giving to the church and giving to charity. Charity, IMO, is helping those less fortunate. Not giving money to build a bigger church or temple or to support the church.

It doesn't matter who does the most, and who does the least. The fact that MOST churches give aid and humanitarian efforts is good enough. We should all be helping our fellow man no matter what religion we follow.

The Roman Catholic Church, by far, does more charitable and humanitarian work than any other religious body -- and more than any other nongovernmental organization, in fact.
I don't know much about Buddhism, even though I'm living in Japan now, but it doesn't seem too involved in charity work.

Per capita or per annum?
SERIOUSLY. Per capita, if you include atheism as a religion, atheism probably wins, just because of Bill Gates.
Per annum, and Christianity probably wins because there are more people.
