Knowing that everyone who reads this, (whether one or one thousand), has a different opinion on - well - everything..... How can we come together in this day and age and find a common ground? From the posts I've read I realize that there are people representing almost every point on the spectrum out there. So.... on this little website, what can we some up with?

There isn't a magic solution.

In fact, there isn't a solution at all considering the changes the entire human race would have to undergo. Everyone would have to embrace all the differences in the world, instead of fearing them.

"The Human species survives on the unnatural: Technology, science, understanding and knowledge (the four biggest threats to religion!) have turned our existence into a frivolous and headstrong roller-coaster ride completely divorced from the realities of the food chain. We are cut off from nature, and we should be rightfully thankful for it, too!
But we can only be thankful for our privileged position on Earth if we first understand and admit, even revere, the fact that the natural world is violent, aggressive, and dangerous, and that we are the cream of the crop.

In this country, I personally think we need to expose religion for what it's doing to society and how it's the antithesis to tolerance and acceptance.

Are you suggesting that tolerance and acceptance are the main virtues? I would suggest that truth and civility would be more the goal. tolerating evil is not a virtue. Neither is it a virtue to accept evil.

Respect. Just respect what other's believe. So many people refuse to do it, but it's really very simple.

empathy
walking in other shoes
knowing that they hurt as we hurt
being respectful and polite even in our disagreeing
being mature !
