Lift weights.

Exercise is great, but too much aerobic exercise is not going to help you. You want healthy weight. That means muscle, not fat. Fat goes onto the body in different places, it's dead weight that you carry around, and it doesn't feel good, and it's bad for your health. If you add muscle, it's healthy, it strengthens your body for activities and helps prepare you for later years, it increases your bone health and density, and it burns about 9 calories per pound per day, which means that you can eat more and enjoy it. It goes onto the body in healthy places, and looks good on you, regardless of your gender. I have two separate paragraphs depending on gender:

If you are a man: it's very good for you. there's no way you'll get too big without steroids, which can kill you in the long haul, so please stay away from them, but even professionals that are 'natural' can't get nearly as big as they'd like, so just lift and don't worry about too much. Eat plenty of protein, take vitamins, and you can put on 15-30 lbs in a year of hard lifting. I know, I was a skinny kid, and I went from 168 to 225 in just a few years when I was in my 20's. Don't forget to do aerobic work like running and cycling as well. It will help your endurance in the gym and you will be better off than doing just one or the other.

If you are a woman: Women don't have enough testosterone to 'bulk up'. The ones you see that do, have been pumping 3 hours a day and taking steroids. The ones that are 'cut' and 'veiny' have dieted to a fault and are at an unhealthy body fat percentage. - So, what you can learn from this is, that if you lift weights, eat fairly healthy, and don't worry about your body fat percentage and don't do steroids, you will gain weight, it will be healthy weight, it will look good in all the right places, and you will feel better. If you are working out, and eating well, you will get good muscles in good places, and also the right amount of fat in the right places as well.
If you don't believe this, there are some examples to consider: Gabriella Sabatini, Gabriella Reece, Anna Kournikova, Linda Murray, and just about any gymnast or pro skater or skiier on the planet. They all pump iron. Check it out.
For women, lifting is even more important in the long run than for men, because of the increased likelihood of osteoporosis. Just like for guys, some complimentary aerobic work, good protein intake, and vitamins are important too.

Good luck. Give it time. Be patient. Just a suggestion, but you shouldn't even measure yourself or weigh yourself for about 3 months. If you are checking things daily, you will get frustrated.
Also, if you want to make real changes, you have to be somewhat dedicated. Try to figure out a way to block off an hour of time each day for whatever you choose to do.

Please follow the following change in ur life style:

1. Eat only when hungry.

2. No more than three meals a day with nothing except water in between. The only exception being if u r diabetic.

3. Eat each morsel of food at least 32 times so that brain gets information from stomach and generates a signal that u have had enough.

4, Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly.

I'm getting the impression that your skinny. An answer i would automatically think of, " eat unhealthy' foods like pizza, pasta etc. But you may have a fast metabolism so if you eat a lot of food you wont neccarily get 'fat', but some people who have that take advantage and will most likely get a heart attack when there older from high cholesterol. Work on eating healthy things such as: Yogurt, Eggs, chicken, rice, vegetables, fruits= basically everything in the food category. You cant make yourself get fat, as long as your eating healthy, you have energy and your not weak, then your fine!-Good luck Hun!

By eating healthy, you will be a healthy weight. Lots of fresh vegetables, some fresh fruit, some lean protein, some no-fat, low-fat dairy, some whole grains, 6 glasses of water, 30 minutes of exercise daily. You'll be healthy, have energy to spare and feel GREAT!

You can use a product called Ensure to increase calories. If it's more than a caloric issue, I'd talk with a professional--your doctor or dietitian--for more specific help.

first of all you do not want to become fatter, you want to gain healthy weight that is distributed throughout your body evenly. gaining fat will only go to your chin, waist, buttocks and thighs and it wont look good. by achieving healthy weight you must eat lean meats, sweet potatos, whole grain breads, brown rice and whole wheat pasta.
