The universe is complex and probably required a Creator. But which one? It seems that all cultures throughout human history have recognized the role of a Creator God.

The Creator defined by the North American Native Americans only asked that humans live in harmony with all nature. In exchange, the Creator provided plants and animals for humans to use as food, clothing, shelter, and medicine. Early Native Americans showed their respect and appreciation to the Creator by making small offerings of tobacco.

The Creator God defined by Hebrew scholars, 6000 years ago in the Middle East, was a jealous, and often cruel God. He demanded that humans make sacrifices of animal blood in order to appease Him, and set out Old Testament laws of behavior that often required the stoning-to-death of your neighbor for sins as minor as eating shell fish or working on the Sabbath. These laws remained in effect for over 4000 years until Emperor Constantine made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire and commissioned the first Bible from a collection of Hebrew scrolls and stories of Jesus. Religious scholars of today claim that the Old Testament God decided to change his original requirements for animal sacrifice and for stoning-your-neighbor-to-death for disobeying His written laws. This God, rather than having his human scribes re-write the laws on new scrolls, he decided to have His only Son sent to earth to be tortured and murdered.

I believe there is a Creator God. I just believe that his personality is more like the compassionate Creator God of the early Native Americans. If He turns out to be the cruel Middle Eastern God, and He throws me in Hell for thinking He is more loving than He really is, then I’m willing to accept with that fate.

Everybody has their own opinion on whether there is a God or not. If you believe in him then thats fine, you have to believe in what you think is right. If you dont believe in God thats fine as well. Many people take comfort in God, Prayer, Religion on the whole. It gives believers answers that they havent been able to seek elsewhere.
Personally i dont believe in God, although i like to read the religious section of YA and i try and keep an open mind where i can.
Never worry about what other people think about your questions or that they have answered them in a nasty way, they are entitled to have their say, although you would think they sometimes could of done so more tactfully.
At the end of the day you should let their comments go over your head, its not even worth wasting energy being angry at them.

The problems that occcur are due to the fact that some people not all but some people like to go around thinking that they are right and everybody else is wrong. Which in my opinion is sort of arrogant no matter which side it's coming from. You see another problem is that people tend to generalize a whole group based on the actions of a few in which you do as well when you say that certain "groups" are gonna attack you which in fact isn't necessarily true. It has nothing to do with what group or religious or non religious group you belong to as everybody is different from one another. Well okay if you are truly sincere in your apology I will forgive you okay. Just don't do that too much I don't like when people generalize all that much. But then again everybody is guilty of it at times. I am also. I will admit it. I apologize to anybody I may have ever offended on this site who didn't deserve it.

I think that the main problem is that Christians do the same thing - they treat non-believers as though they are stupid... Of course, when they do it, it's considered "righteous" for some reason... you can't have it both ways - if you want respect, give it - don't tell every non-believer you meet that they are wrong and try to convert them (I'm not saying that you do this - I'm saying that many Christians do...). I am unsure of my own beliefs at the moment, but that doesn't mean I am wrong, nor do I want to hear that all the time...

Christians do not have all the answers, and neither do the non-believers.

Misery loves company and there's lots of hurting, lost and even some cruel people here with inconsiderate answers. I am a Christian with a firm foundation for my faith, so I don't get angry, just feel sorry for these people. We need to pray for them. I do not get offended if someone bashes me or my beliefs, they are entitled to their own opinions as we all are, but I do get offended when someone bashes The Lord. But then, I remember what Jesus said on the cross "Forgive them for they do not know what they do". So He taught me thru this forgiving and loving prayer to the Father in Heaven, that that's what I need to do also when I'm criticized, bashed etc. We need to love and forgive the lost. If you cannot handle all the cruel things you'll read on this website, then maybe you should sit out for awhile --it's not for the faint of heart. God love you!

Honey, this section is open to everyone and people have different opinions. What you need to do is stay strong in your beliefs. Try to ignore the mean answers. Move on to the well meaning answers. Remember that Jesus said nonbelievers hated Him before they hated those of us that believe in Him. You should also pray about questions that you have and let God help lead you to the answer. Good luck.

May God Bless you.

Come on ! you're writing about people writing mean things - - - then you try to top them. Your little spiel isn't exactly peaches and cream.
You don't like people to say that Christians are stupid, but many many questions suggest that Atheists are the stupid ones. Is it okay to belittle Atheists, but they should take it with a smile and not answer back to defend themselves ?
So don't get yourself all worked up. And may God bless your ah-soul.

They get very mean. Someone yesterday followed me around on here with a stinky Midge thing or something like that. It was actually kind of funny. I definitely ticked her off by telling the truth. That's the thing they do not like the truth and I imagine that if crucifixion was still a viable option, we would be crucified already.

I'm not necessarily a believer, but I can't say that God doesn't exist. What bothers me are people like YOU telling Atheists that they don't belong here.

I never once said that anyone else's beliefs were wrong. WHY oh WHY can't people just accept religious diversity?

Stop being so concerned about what everyone else is doing and take care of yourself.

Perhaps you've heard of the verb "to write"?
And do you know about contractions like "you're"?

I'm afraid that your "question" (which of course is really just a frustrated attempt to overcome your inadequacy) undermined itself.

You need to learn to cope with the fact that your religious beliefs are false, and that people out here in the real world are going to point that fact out to you if you broadcast those false beliefs so eagerly.
