First off, let me say I'm 17..so please try and answer maturely. I've liked this guy in my school for about 3 years now. We used to talk but stopped after our classes together ended. This year, we're in classes together..and I started to talk to him online. He replied with things like "why haven't we talked in so long?" "Do we really need some grumpy old teacher to bring us together?" During class, he'll call my name quietly and then pretend to be working when I look over at him. His friends once commented "Oh..he's just got this little smile on his face" and they teased him for a bit.
The thing is, he's very popular and I'm not sure if he was just trying to be nice or if he actually has feelings for me. Lately, I've been the one having to initiate conversations online..and when he does talk, it's not as flirty as it used to be. Do you think maybe he's lost interest?
If so..do you have any advice on how to tell his feelings other than asking him? I'm incredibly shy. :(

Other things he's done:
In the halls when we pass each other.. he'll say my name and smile quite widely
One day in the parking lot, he honked at me and waved in front of all of his friends.
On msn, he asked me if I was going out with anyone..and then when I said no and asked him..he said no. He then asked me if I had a graduation escort..and I told him I was planning on getting some guy drunk and asking him and he typed back: "I was thinking of drinking tonight. Wanna hang out? :P"
I'm finding this very confusing because I'm unsure of whether or not he's just playing around or if he actually likes me.
Part of me is wondering if maybe he figures he came on too strong and is maybe pulling back on talking to me in fear of looking vulnerable or uncool. Is that possible?
This has only been going on for about 2 weeks, and it's already driving me crazy.

Also.. He seems to be a fan of making eye contact with me for extended periods of time somedays..and then other days barely even glancing at me.
is that a good sign or a bad one?

He likes because most of the time if they ask if ur going out with anyone then most likely they like u.....so if i were u i would just go for it and ask him out....but if u see that as being to direct then when u two r online talkin then ask him if he likes you then just go from there.

I think he was just confused at one point didnt no what he wanted but i think he does now i get the strong inpression he likes you but i dont have advice on what to do just dont come on to him to strong.
