Tattoo artists are not perfect...they are just human afterall. That being said, I'm sure if you went back and mentioned to him/her and showed them, they would fix it at no charge. They do have a reputation to uphold, and happy customers give referrals and return for future work. Besides, it's just good business practice.
I wouldn't go in there all upset, throwing a fit and yelling...that's not going to help the situation. But if you explain it and show them, I'm sure they'd have no problem apologizing and fixing it for you asap.

it happens from time to time but most tattoo artists will tell you to come back if you need a touch up i would wait about two weeks for it to heal and then go back. i have had three tattoos done so far and every time i leave the place the artist always says i can come back for a free touch up after it has healed. because some times your tattoo will not hold all the ink or any other reason so i would just give them a call or drop down by the shop and ask them.

Thats why u ck the tat out before u leave the shop when they tell u to! My artist never missed a line. If u looked at it when it was finished and noticed the missing line u should have said something. I wouldn't recommend going bk to that artist.

It's common where I live, almost everyone has one little line missing or off somewhere on their tattoo. My best friend just had hers done and they missed a line between the drawing and the name on just one side.

Depends on the skill of the artist. Hard to say. Can you return for a touchup? It seems like the better artists realize that happy customers means more business, and touchups are either free or cheap with them.

i don't know if it is COMMON but i'm sure it does happen. i had somewhat of a mistake on one of my tattoos. the line was done in a different color but you can't tell now that there is more color added. all tattoos are unique but if you aren't happy with it then you should contact your artist.

Not to common, but it can happen. If it does happen make sure the artist is aware of what happened so he or she can fix this problem. It it goes unnoticed to them, bring it up.

Common, no. Possible, yes. I can happen, the skin is a moving canvas. We hope that our artist never misses, but it happens.
