No, but I looked into getting one (we have a number of different dogs).
The main thing I heard from everyone is that they have to be on leash and/or contained at all times. If they are ever let loose, they will take off. Nearly every single owner I contacted stressed this point. If you're looking for a hang-around dog, this isn't it. They're gorgeous dogs, but they'll book at the first opportunity.

I have a 4 year old siberian husky. I got mine the day she was going to be put down from animal control and she is the sweetest do I have ever met. She does not have many of the bad husky traits, like running away, digging and eating cats. If they do decide to run they run away fast and do not know how to get home, she only tried to leave once and someone caught her and called me. They are family dogs, they can be jealous and females generally want to be the dominant dog of the family. Although they survive fine, I would not suggest leaving them outside unattended because they want to know they are part of the family. When they are young they often eat couches and other furtnature, mine has even eaten cigarettes. You can pull on my dogs tail, ears and stick your hand in her mouth and she will not do anything to you except put her paw on your hand trying to stop you. (I have tried doing these things to make sure she would not bite children who dont know better). They are intelligent dog although they may not want to be trained so people assume they are not smart. My dog will be great all day at home alone, (cant be crated, destroyed her metal crate in one day) my boyfriend will come and go and no problem, but, if i come home on a weeknight after work and then we leave, she flips and eats stuff, jumps on the kitchen counter, opens the cupboards and pulls out all kinds of food which she then eats, like cereal, bread and other items. Its only me though because she lived with me alone before and she does not like me leaving except during the times im supposed to be gone as far as she is concered, which is mon-fri work hours. They are not easy dogs, but I would not give mine up for anything. THere are many huskys at the pound and at husky rescue groups because many people buy them and abandon them or give them up. Hope this helps!

I have a 7 year old husky. I like how cuddly she is, her sweet disposition and that she does not bark excessively.
On the down side, she is dumber than a tree. Every year, she gets sprayed by a skunk at least once. She also hates it when you touch her paws, so I have to take her to the vet to have her nails trimmed....what a pain!
But she's worth it - I love my husky.

i have a siberian husky, She is great, very loyal and alot of fun, it is true that they do like to run off and are great escape artists, My sasha does run off but she always comes back into the yard when called, it is possible to have them off lead but you need to take alot of time to train them. Every dog is different!! even if they are the same breed. it took us almost a year to train Sasha, but we can leave all the gates open in our yard tell her to stay and she will not run off, even when provoked by another dog, they are a beautiful breed and would reccommend them, as long as you are willing to put the time and effort into loving them and giving them the care and training they need
