finding interesting questions to answer here on Y! R&S? Is this a place to seek truth and wisdom about what the nature of an omnipotent being consists of; or is it a b*tch session for people who get off on disagreeing with, and/or trying to berate others?

Seems to be the latter. But it does show what a hot topic religion is, and how entrenched people are in their beliefs.
I try to respond in kind, but kindly - in love. Someone is flippant, I'll be flippant back - the question isn't worth the time it took them to write it - hopefully it shows that Christians too can have a sense of humor.
Someone asks a serious question, I'll reply seriously.
Someone trolls nastily, I report them to Yahoo. The stupid trolling I ignore.
And I only ask serious questions - meant to make people think about what they write - about what they think. Most replies are the standard and you know they have no thought behind them. But every once in a while, someone starts thinking.
After some time in here, you will see the same questions over and over again. People are just too lazy to check the archives before they ask, or they think they've just thought of some great proof to finally kill off (evolution, creation, god, Satan, the bible or any other religious cornerstone).
Bear with it, it's like panning for gold. You get a lot of dirt, but there are nuggets in here.
Ask a leading question and prepare to pan through the sludge.

This has been going on since day one in the world, not to mention here, I have found many interesting questions and answers, and try to understand with agape love for others regarding their opinions.

Well, religion is a controversial thing. I get very annoyed at times with these questions and answers, too. Some people, however, just don't understand things, so they just do what they do and pick the answer that agrees with them as the best answer. It is frustrating.

Somehow I get the impression that this forum was not intended to be a soapbox or stand-up night at the Laugh Factory.

Yeah, but I can't seem to think of any good ones lately either. I still think y/a has value, but instead of religion/spirituality it's been the
rudeness/sarcasm section lately.

You have to seek truth from GOD's word ,start to read and ask for his help he will give it to you ,in his time and in his plan.This is just for fun.But who know's maybe we can help each other.
