your friend is going to hate you! even if he broke up with her

I would wait a bit first just to let the dying embers go out. Have you gotten any signal from her that she may feel the same way about you? If you value your friendship with the guy, broach the subject of your asking her out with him first and see how he feels. Objectively, if they are broken up, she's free to go out with whomever she wants and he should not have a problem with that, but life is rarely that clean. That's why I would broach the subject first with him. It's not to ask permission, but rather to see how strongly he feels about it. I would only do this if I valued his friendship. If not, then go for it and let the chips fall where they may.

That does make her fair game but you also have to think that this will cause a rift between you and your friend. If this girl is worth losing your friend over then go for it, but if you want to maintain your friendship then stay clear of this girl.

Depends on how good of a friend this guy is. I would give it a little time and, talk to your friend about it first. Is he a friend worth losing over this girl?

not if you are friends with the guy. There a given waiting period. I would say wait a month or two then talk to him about it. If you aren't friends the guy then its fair game. Other wise Guy Code dictates a no fly period.

yes and no. if you value your friendship with both parties then no. if you really like this girl and think you have a good chance, and truely believe its over between them then yes, but alot of time people break up and get back together, so be careful.

I think that if you really , I mean really, like this girl, then ask your friend if that's okay with him. Then if he says no, then kind of wait a while (like a month) and ask him again.

No way, if they're truly your friends, it will be a very uncomfortable situation and a lot of resentment for you. Find someone else.

i think you should talk to the guy and tell him how you feel about the girl and ask him if he would feel comfortable about you seeing the girl. if he isnt you need to consider which is more important to you friendship with him or a relationship with her.
