If you are really into photography you should get a camera with a lot of mega pixels. I would say about 7 or higher. Also you want a camera with a optical zoom. You should have 3x or higher. If you are willing to spend a lot of money I think you should get a Cannon, specially if you want one that is sleek and good quality.

I have also heard that Kodak's aren't that good, but I have never had one. My school has the really large ones with lots of zoom. I have used that and i think it is very good.

If you are really into photography, I think there are better choices than the dual-lens approach. This camera receives somewhat cool reviews.

You should consider a digital SLR if you are really going to get serious about things. If you do not want to spend upwards of $600 on a nice dSLR (such as the Nikon D40), I would suggest that you look at a camera like the Canon Powershot A630 or A640, so you will be able to actually learn about user control of the image. The V570 (and the V610 and V705, for that matter) will not let you control the lens opening (aperture) or the shutter speed. These are the very basics that you must learn about if you want to progress into photography at a serious level at all.

Now, if you are really into taking snapshots, go ahead and buy the V570. It fits nicely into your shirt pocket.

If you really like Photography (like i did when i was in year 10) you should get into a camera shop, and ask for a (D)SLR camera.

This is a good start for you

There are two brands that are famous with this thing: they are Nikon and Canon.

They have a lot of camera that may fit your need. Try to spend time searching information online, to see if the camera(s) will fit your needs.

Out there in the market, Sony has made a big notice about their new Sony Alpha 100, which is the first DSLR of Sony. This camera gives you the big number of mega pixel, and a nice programme of advertising. However, this is the first time in their company to produce these thing (which is actually a taken-over of Minolta company), therefore we can't be sure about the quality of A100. Try to search more information on the sites.

Do not base on the megal pixel number, or do not be frightened if a camera with a small megal pixel. There is a Nikon D2Hs, which is only 4 mega pixels, and it has the price of $3000 USD, which is 10 times more expensive then a $300 USD 7mega pixel. It, therefore, is a better camera.

www.dpreview.com is a good site for you. Try to search for a DSLR camera, because it's fast.. and useful :)

Good luck

If you can afford it buy a DSLR with 2 lens to cover most situations. Use a slow ISO rating 100 or lower & the slowest shutter speed you can hold steady, that way you will avoid too much digital noise in your photos.
