What is the best ring setting for an engagement ring?

Looking for a setting, that is strong, yet beautiful. I want a setting that can held wear and tear.
Can you share the pros or cons to the differentsewttings prong, chatheral, channel, contour....

....just my opinion but I would go with a wide band - wide enough to suit the size of your finger... and get a stone set "flush" into the gold - this would be the strongest.... and always looks in style....hope this helps... good luck with your choice

If you have a very active lifestyle, either consider not wearing your ring while you participate in that activity or get a ring with a recessed setting.
