Does anyone realize the scope of the Jihadist problem???

People just keep stating that it is only a percentage of Muslims who either perform acts or support acts of terror. Fine, let's just accept this notion. The world population is roughly 1.6 Billion. So let's just say it is 5% of Muslims worldwide are willing to commit acts of terror. What is that number? That is 80,000,000 million people. So what you say? The number of soldiers who served in the Wehrmacht from 1935 until 1945 is believed to be around18.2 million. Let that sink in for a bit. That is nearly 60 million more Jihadists than Hitler's army and this is only a very conservative 5% estimate. There are many who believe Jihadists are a much larger percentage. Remember, it only takes one Nuke to kill millions.

read some of the books by Mark Gabriel. he used to be a student of the blind sheik in Egypt. he taught at the same university as the sheik did. he was one of the radicals who was teaching jihad against the infidels who is us by the way.he tells it like it is . he has several books out and tells what it is like to be a muslin. when he tried to find out some things about why they did some of the thing that they do they thought that he had turned to the Christian faith which he had not done so. he was just trying to strengthen his faith. they kicked him out of the school and put a hit on him[ his own father did that] and that and some other things help it along. READ HIS BOOKS THEY WILL OPEN YOUR EYES AND YOU WILL SEE

Even if the figure is only 1%, that is staggering.

What a lot of Americans don't realize is the depth of animosity towards the U.S.A. all around the world. I now live in Europe, and people here aren't so PC..... they'll just tell you what they think. The level of hostility aimed at America is astounding. Some of their reasons are outright fabrications; they don't know what they are talking about. Others are just plain ignorance, the product of decades of only getting news through the incredibly biased Liberal media.

I will never forget a 60 Minutes episode shortly after 9-11. Leslie Stahl was interviewing some very rich, privileged Prep School students in Pakistan. They looked very dapper in their traditional English sport coats with the school crest prominently displayed. However, from listening to them, you could imagine these were some deviant Pakistani slum dwellers. They started hurling invectives at the U.S., saying we got what we deserved.

Now, remember that 60 Minutes is an extremely Liberal show. At this point, I thought for sure Leslie Stahl was going to go all "Barbara Walters" on these kids: look at them with soft puppy dog eyes and commiserate with them about their pain. Instead, in a moment that made me proud to be an American, Leslie stopped these self-important dummies in their tracks by retorting with something like, "Are you kidding? The U.S. has done nothing but HELP Muslims all over the world, in Croatia, in Somalia, in Palestine, in Serbia.......".

It was a priceless moment to see these rich Pakistani kids, who were so full of self-righteousness, get a dressing-down by Stahl.

Here is the ultimate irony: the Conservatives are trying very hard to combat terrorism by keeping it contained overseas. The Liberals want to withdraw from Iraq, which will only free up the terrorists so they can infiltrate the U.S.

When another, maybe bigger, more deadly and disasterous attack comes to pass, the Liberals, who talk about treating terrorism like you would approach common criminality, will, without the slightest sense of irony, blame the Conservatives.

Your statistics are frightening. Even if there were "only" 35,000 or so: that's equal to the population of Lichtenstein or Andorra. Only one of those 35,000 has to be successful to devastate a city.

5%!?!?! Are you crazy? 5% is 1 out of every 20 Muslims. Are you seriously trying to tell me that if I randomly grabbed 100 Muslims and put them in a room, 5 of them would be willing to "commit acts of terror"? You have no background in any sort of statistics or basic reasoning.

Let me explain how YOUR math works out. Taking a look at yesterdays headlines, we see that a female suicide bomber blew herself up at a Baghdad university, killing 42 and injuring 55. That is a total of 97 people. For simplicity's sake, let's say 100 casualties. According to your 5%, that would mean that bomber accidentally killed or injured 4 people who were willing to commit acts of terror. It's total nonsense

If the number of "Muslim Terrorists" (and I use quotes on purpose) is even close to 0.01% (160,000) then I would be extremely shocked. Of course, if the number of "Christian Terrorists" is that high, I would still be shocked.

Scary isn't it. It needs to be dealt with, but every time someone tries to keep terrorism in check, the political correct police show up and whine and moan and groan. The countries that have freedom from tyrants need to remember that freedom isn't free. It was bought with the blood of many people before us. You are absolutely right. If the Western World doesn't wake up we will have a lot of wasted sacrifices.

Wake up and do what?
It's religion and religious chauvanism that's the problem and at the root of all of these wars.
We only barely keep our own brand of Jihadists in check in this country. They're itching for a finger on the trigger to bring about endtimes and the second coming themselves!

What are we supposed to do about a problem we encourage?
What are you proposing as a solution?
Mass conversion from one brand of mythos to another?
Left Behind instead of 10,000 Virgins?
