We do get this question just about every week. A lot of the time due to the water they lose during the race, remember, there is no A/C in these cars, a lot of the time they just don't have to go. Other times, like Tony Stewart a couple years ago when he had a stomach problem, in the suit is the only option. For the most part though, they don't have to go. Think about it, could you not have to go to the bathroom for 3-4 hours if you were in a heat box, concentrating on going 180-200 and working your butt off just to make sure you keep even with the water you are losing through sweat.

It's easy, they go before all the pre-race activities, and then they go again after the interviews.
It's easy to hold it in throughout a whole race, I mean, come on, I don't go to the bathroom anywhere near that often, people can go probably at least 6 hours before they start feeling the need to go to the bathroom. And it doesn't even become an emergency for another few hours. I never went to the bathroom while I was in the stands last year's Pocono 500.
And during the race, they sweat it out, so really it probably isn't a problem at all, otherwise the races would be shorter, nobody likes peeing in their pants.

They don't have to go. They go before the race and they may drink water in the cars. The inside of a Nascar car gets hot, sometimes up to 115, so the guys (sometimes women) start to sweat. Because they sweat so much they don't need to use the restroom the whole time they are on the track.

When you're racing in a car with an internal temperature of 140 degrees most body fluid is expelled through the sweat glands. Very little makes it to the drivers bladder.

They wait until the race is over. I'm sure they all go before the start of the race so they can make it the whole time. 3-4 hours isn't all that long though!

Most don't have to worry about it. Drivers watch what they consume 2-3 days before the race, especially their fluid intake. On hot, long days most of their fluids they actually sweat out so that helps majorly too I would think. I have read though before about drivers urinating on themselves. Never #2 though.. I know Busch, Wallace, and Dale Jr have admitted it before in interviews.. Others, probably have.. But don't piss-n-tell!

They don't. Have you never gone 4 hours without going to the bathroom?

ALL THOSE PEOPLE WHO SAID THEY DONT GO, HOW DO THEY KNOW IF A DRIVER HAS TO GO OR NOT. IF A DRIVER HAD TO GO TO THE BATHROOM THEY DRILL HOLES IN THE SEAT BECAUSE A LOT OF DRIVERS GET AN ICE PACK ON THE BACK OF THERE SHOULDERS AND THE WATER WILL LAY IN THE SEAT AND EVENTUALLY BOIL AND BURN THEM, THATS WHY THEY DRILL THE HOLES.

as unsanitery, as this sounds, they go in their pants :D
i mean, if your stuck in a car at 150 + for 3-4 hours and no timeouts, yep, looks like ur either goin to be holdin it or using ur pants, and it has happened before, some drivers even talk about it.
