Is it normal for them to crawl under cubbards and hide for days on end till you find them by accident? We got her a couple weeks ago and she disappeared a day later. I thought my roommates let her outside. We looked for her for 3 days straight and gave up cause she wasnt here long enough to know this was her home. About a week ago she gave herself away and we've had to keep her in the bathroom so that she doesnt get under there again. Shes a very sweet cat but the people that gave her to us didnt tell me she was anything like this. How can I brake her of this so that she doesnt want to hide where we cant get her? She loves to cuddle but as soon as u get up and move shes off and running. Please help I dont want to take her to the pound.

You can go to www. spiritessence.com and order some "Scaredy Cat" for her. That's a combination of flower essences that will help her overcome her fears and adjust better emotionally to her new home. I recommended that to someone else on Answers as the owner said it really helped the cat become less fearful.

It's only $16.95 - no tax, or shipping or handling charges. You simply shake the bottle well and put three or four drops on the fur between the little gal's ears - three to four times a day. If she is hiding under a bed or something put the drops on a small cloth and put it with her where she is hiding and "refresh" the drops as often as you would put them on her if she were out. It will work that way too. With the flower essences you need to treat the cat intensely for a week to ten days and I am sure you will see results.

I gave the other poster a thumbs up. I agree. This cat doesn't know its home yet.

Try sitting in a chair with some hotdogs, cheese, smelly good stuff for cats and calling her to you. Let her come to you..

But, don't try it for a few days.

Meantime, talk to her in soft tones. She will come out of her shell as she figures out you aren't out to hurt her.

Good luck.

She needs to feel comfortable in the home, like she is there at her free will. Not trapped there. Cats need to feel they are free to have the opportunity to run about the home, maybe at her last home she didn't have that. Leave her in a closed in room for awhile until she gets used to it then try her in a bigger room or in the apartment and see how she does.

She's shy. Cat's sometimes need time to adjust to their new home.
