Depends on what you are doing with it. A pistol can be carried easier, but usually they are not as powerful. A rifle is generally more powerful. If you are just plinking, you might want to go with the pistol. BB shooting pistols are kind of fun.

Depends on usage. Rifle is more accurate and easier to hit things with for the beginner, but it's much larger.

Usually the rifle is more powerful...just like real weapons. However, that isn't always the case. Check with the manufacturer for more info.
