The metal roller type of thing. Do you find it a real drag to use as you crank a lump of overly-floured dough through it and onto the floor because its too long, then you try to move it and it tears apart and then you get upset and go off pasta completely and wish you'd just bought a bag of tagliatelle for 90p down the shop?

No, I buy the dried pasta. They reckon the brown stuff is better for you. And I don't pay 90p for it either. Where do you shop, Waitrose?

But I do have a bread maker. Although I only use that to make pizza dough. If I want a loaf I buy Braces.

Yes, I use to use it a lot once, but since I moved into a house with a pokey little kitchen with nowhere suitable to anchor, it's stayed in the cupboard. You certainly need more than one pair of hands though. I cut down on the number of hands by using a stool or chair with a large plate or chopping board on it to catch the bits before they reached the floor.

The pasta tastes better but it is a real drag to use and I hang the strips on a clothes line

my god you are really bad at making pasta, it is piss easy you just need to flatten the dogh a little, use a little at the time and try to make it a little soft and not too hard otherwise yes it happens what you just described. besides i don't use the pasta maker i just make it with a rolling pin it comes better and is more fun

Yes, I have a home pasta maker, it is my wife. She is from Italy.
That is about as close as you can get to Home Made.
