looking for wedding venue with picturesque gardens, good reception dinner, and good buffet, just looking for word of mouth about good venues people have been to as guests or part of a wedding.

Many congrats!
I am getting married this year in the Piersland House Hotel in Troon. I know it's not quite Glasgow but we stay in the south side and felt it was by far the best venue we looked at in and around Glasgow. With the new road troon's not that far! They have a website you could look. I heard about it by word of mouth from a lady in my work because the don't advertise as a wedding venue. We were looking for a venue that wasn't to expensive, with gardens and good food (they also give a choice in the menu that many places don't do without charging extra).
If this doesn't suit, why don't you buy a Scottish wedding directory as they have a venues magazine that lists loads of venues. Good luck.

Oran Mor in the Westend, old converted church corner of Byres Rd and Great Western Rd. Go check that out it has everything you are asking for EXCEPT gardens. However the Botanic Gdns are right across the road for beautiful pictures. Other smashing place is House for an Art Lover in Bellahouston Park, it has got it all for you, the rose gardens are magnificent. I am unsure from your posting if you want the gardens for your guests to wander in or for pictures? Anyway Hous for an Art Lover would fit the bill completely. Loads of other places but outskirts of Glasgow but from your posting you may mean only Glasgow. If a little further out Seamill Hydro is wonderful, gardens AND beach or Brig o'Doon, Alloway Ayr again fantastic and the gardens behind go on forever, the traditional bridge, river etc. Best of luck

First off - GOOD LUCK and CONGRATS!

I went to a wedding years ago in the Garfield House Hotel; most hotels can cater for a civil wedding ceremony and then the reception plus accommodation etc; that way everything's under one roof and people just organise themselves to get there or not! DON'T then choose somewhere just to keep everyone happy - families are selfish bar-stewards at weddings!! *haha*

Best of luck with it all! x

I just checked out the venue search on confetti.co.uk and venues in Glasgow are a little thin on the ground in their listings, I saw you can get married at Ibrox, but I guess it depends what team you support!!!

Here's the link to the Scottish venues pages anyway:
