XP home edition shutsdown and restarts quite often. Here is what I have done to fix this issue:

1) XP was restored completely.
2) Service pack 2 applied
3) Anti virus software was updated
4) All drivers were up to date
5) Windows was current with patches and fixes

Still, system shutsdown and restarts.

Thanks for your help

Install the system restore disc that came with it and do a repair on it. It will work fine after that.

ur computer parts might be damaged, like your computer gets to hot so it restarts itself. open ur computer and check if cables are undone or if its dusty, if the problem is that its too hot then i suggest getting a new case or new fans that help the air flow better. and you might wanna check ur temperature of or cpu that's most likey causing it

Check your power ports, it may have something to do with those.

perhaps it is corrupted software, or there could be something wrong inside your computer..
