Just do it. Then you can advance to the fear of driving the second time.
I'm 59 and have been driving all my adult life. I must tell you there are nut cases on the road, I have long since lost count but I still approach driving with a deep abiding respect that still does border on fear.
Personally I think anyone who drives fearlessly is in the category of the aforementioned "nut cases".

Drive around a big empty parking lot. see how the car accelerates, brakes, steers, then when you are comfy with that then hit the road, My son was driving 55 MPH on a highway I looked at him and gave him something to do......BREATHE. His knuckles were white. So when you drive relax as much as possible and breathe....

Make sure someone else is with you and try driving in an unpopulated area where there are few cars, like a dirt road

go play in a large empty parking lot and just cruise around and practice parking, driving, shifting, stopping, turning, etc. The more you drive, the more confident you will become.
like anything in life....practice makes perfect.

Go with a friend and just do it. That is how it is done. Pick a street or route that does not have much traffic. Good luck and have fun. Key word=fun! Don't sweat the small stuff. We all have done it and we all make mistakes. It is OK, as long as you just grin like a fool and have fun.
