If you jog short distances, such as 2 miles or so, a Labrador is hard to beat. If you do long jogs, such as 3-6 miles, you would want a sight hound, such as a whippet, or an energetic working dog such as a Boxer, Queensland heeler, husky or Border collie..
Here is a site that lists the best jogging dogs> http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/jog.htm
I love salmon patties with ketchup!..haven't tried them with macaroni..

If you jog often and can have a large dog you should check into adopting a Greyhound. He would get a lot of exercise that way. as for your 2nd ?, I love Salmon cakes from the can. I make them at least twice a month and always have mac and cheese. I also put ketchup on my salmon cakes.

Mac and cheese: YES.
Salmon patties I'll have to try.
Jogging partners: any of the sporting breeds.
Remember that a dog will only be a good jogging partner if it is well trained. If you traing the dog, any breed will be able to keep up and outrun you.
That said, keep in mind that some breeds have been bred for specific purposes. Smaller dogs (generally) were bred to be lap dogs (or ratters). Terriers were ratters; hence, they will chase anything vaguely resembling a rodent. Hounds follow their nose, whippets are sight hounds and follow anything that move, etc.
If you get a puppy or an out of shape dog, take your time. Just like you each dog will need not only mental and obedience training, they need physical training and need to be physically mature to avoid long term damage.
Long and short: do your research.

Labs make GREAT jogging partners and also add some sense of security. I think it would make a good choice for a jogging partner and long-time friend.
Also, I personally hate salmon patties, but when my wife cooks them for everyone else, we also have pasta in tomato juice as well. You should also try that combination with fried potatoes.
It's a common combination in the Midwest.

I would suggest you divide your questions into two different questions.
As for a jogging partner dog, about any dog will do. Even the smaller breeds can usually keep up with you jogging.
I hate ketchup (too much sugar and too loose regulations on contents).

Well..Never had fried salmon Patties, but I always found it easy to run with my lab and golden. I recently took our new Cackapoo on a short sprint ( 2 mins ) and she was perfectly fine, I was breathing hard, but she wasn't.

i would go to the shelter and pick a mutt that looks like it likes to run....Husky love running...it what they are breed for.... but i'm a mutt person...tell the workers what ur looking for they know the dogs best.
salmon in a can is a pain...all them bones...i like to use the packaged boneless...keeps my temper from flaring....ketchup is a must....mac and tomato sauce?....nothing for flavor..sounds a bit bland.
edit
she'll be fine! deaf dogs take some specail training...its all hand siagnal that u use (which i teach anyway...that way in old age they know what u want!)...she'll just have to trust u! good luck!....we've been thinking about getting a deaf dalmation.
