okay so you dont really need to answer the question.
So many people have no idea about IAMs. Their advertising is so slick and sweet, how could you not believe them?
Please just read through the site..im not here to preach to you but I was assigned to write an article about a issue in our society and I was researching about animal cruelty and I found this..
http://www.iamscruelty.com/iams-feat-res...
Thanks for listening, I was just disturbed and trying to raise awareness.

Well the address is: http://www.iamscruelty.com/
And I have to tell you that PETA does blow things out of proportion ALOT. These are allegations based upon PETA investigation and subsequent complaint made by/or about a sub-contracted research lab to the Dept of Agriculture!
I use IAMs products for my cats and frankly I will continue to do so. PETA is just too FLAMING to be taken seriously.

Here's the bottom line - whether or not the stories are true doesn't matter.
Iams food is COMPLETE AND UTTER CRAP, at least for cats.
Both their dry and canned varieties are low quality.
I've done tons of research on cat nutrition, and both Iams and Science Diet have been debunked. Unfortunately I can't back this up with any links, because I didn't see a need to hang onto that info.
My own personal experience with Iams is that it gave Poppy the worst gas I've ever smelled. Any so-called cat food that will upset a cat to that extent just isn't good.

Haven't read the site, but a couple of the animal rescue/protection organizations I belong brought their "research" to light a while back. I haven't/wouldn't buy an Iams product since and, like you, take any opportunity to "expose" the hypocrites. Something like 80% or more of "testing" that's done on animals can be avoided by using computer programs or models. And, sadly, the March of Dimes is one of the biggest organizations guilty of animal abuse in the name of "science."

You can't believe everything you read... especially when put out by an activist organization that feels justified in feeding false information to advance thier cause. However, it does raise some suspicion about the company. If you are really interested, look into it more. just taking 1 websites word for it isn't enough, especially when it comes from an organization known for deception like PETA.

I agree that PETA sometimes has a way of exagarating things, but in this particular case, I beilieve this IAMS story to be correct and pretty disturbing.
I would also like to add that if you currently use IAMS products, maybe it's time to call your vet and ask him for suggestions about other food lines to feed your pet - I know I am going to first thing in the morning.

I am a person that is all for animal rights. In fact, I becamse interested in Peta a while back, but as others have said: They are extremists and blow a lot of stuff out of proportion.
And as far as this site is concerned, none of these people did any of these things out of cruelty. They weren't sitting around going "Hey, you know what would be really cool? If we gave a bunch of cats/dogs renal failure and watched them die! Ahahah!"
No, they are doing it for research. Renal failure (kidney failure) is a huge unknown killer in cats. As far as dogs, I don't know.
I recently had a cat actually pass away from CRF (chronic renal failure), and it was extremely tramatic for me. A link to it has to do with foods that are high/low in certain things like Protein and Phosphorus. You have to take extra care to buy the right foods for an animal with RF.
These people aren't doing this for fun, I bet it's quite the opposite.
They are doing it for the better of our animals, to protect us from having to go through what they see in their studies

I would've loved to see it, but the adress wasnt complete. While we are on the animal cruelty, there are kittens being killed in parts of China I think. I have the address and everything. You can see it for yourself. It is an urban ledgend that it is undetermined. Click it. If you are sensitive to blood, I suggest you not to go on this page. If this page doesn't come up and if you are interested, go on snopes.com and then search "killing kittens"" and click the first link.

Hmm... Interesting. Though while I have no doubt that this story isn't completely unfounded, PETA has a tendancy to twist information a LOT... I try to take everything from them with a grain of salt.
