I occasionally like to straighten my hair but I don't like it flat to my head! I blow it dry with a vent brush, upside down. This gives it volume. I put Sleek look light cream into it before I blow dry. This smoothes the cuticle giving it a smooth finish. Once you have that volume from the scalp, you can go into it with a large curling iron or a flat iron to make the shaft flat and smooth to make it look more finished. The sleek look protects your hair from the heat, no matter what you use to flatten it!

One way to give it more volume is to blow dry your hair in a position so that you're standing, bending over and have flipped your hair úpside down. Blow it straight, in this direction, and when you put your hair back into it's normal position you wikll have straight, sleek, but also voluminous hair.

Tip: Paddle brushes are ideal for this.

Don't Straighten it and just blow dry it straight. you could get the hair dryer with a straight attatchment so it blows dry straight but you control the volume.

blow dry it straight, this way you can control the amount of volume you have. A flat iron will suck every ounce of volume out. Hence the name flat iron.
