I just found out that I did VERY badly on one of my alg 2 tests, chemistry is kicking my butt, my history teacher gave me a B on my project that I worked FOREVER on and the list continues. I am seriously going to explode. I go to a very demanding school where it feels like the students are all competitive and I just want to get through high school and go to college. Any advice on how to survive high school without worrying so much??!

Chill out, I have definatley been there done that. What I suggest is get as much work done on Saturday and SUnday so that your week is less stressful and u will still have time for a social life as well.

How much time do you have to devote to studying?? Obviously not enough. Being stressed with school may also mean there are more things going on that are adding to your schedule. If you're doing too much after school. Don't. Are you sure you really like basketball as much as baseball? Then stop. Do something to leave more time for studying for that next algerbra test. One less thing on your schedule can clear your mind giving you time to think about the lessons taught in chemistry. Don't think the worst of your problems is a B on a project. You worked hard on it, you couldn't imagine what could be wrong? Ask your teacher why he thought it wasn't A material. Maybe you'll realize that worrying about it wasn't even worth it at all!
You don't have to worry about people who are so competitive. If you aren't, don't change yourself to be. If you're just stressed about the work and how hard it is, try to get organized, it may help leave more time. Just one moment may be a lot, the moment you may have spent picking up the loose papers that fell out of your locker, could take off of studying time. And don't think I'm saying to study study study! (Although that basically is college) Anyway, take some time to clear your mind too. Relax... spend some of your time relaxing... it will clear your mind and you'll probably be able to think about things better. And you won't be so tense with all your stress about school. So... summing it all up try some of these things:
-Relax
-Shorten your schedule
-Organize yourself (if not already)
-Study (as much as you can)

If worse comes to worse, try extra help or talking to your teachers. They can help too.

I know what you mean. I go to high school and I have realized the difference between stress with generations before us and us. The best you can do is find a way to balance your life, I know it sounds corny but I do it and it works. I throw myself into sports and try to have fun instead of homework 24/7 but I still try to get the best grades that I can. I hope this helps!

PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!!!!
and then know that when you do get into college, it all starts again. you need your grades to get into college, but if you are accepted somewhere, the only grades that ever matter after that are the ones that you get in college. and ultimately the diploma is the only thing that matters in getting a job/career. i have never heard of a job interview that asked, "what was your highschool GPA?" colleges and employers want well rounded, dedicated people that can make it through trials. you won't always be the highest scorer, but if you always complete assignments, you will succeed in school and your career.

wow, i feel really sorry for you and i think you should talk to someone; it isn't good to be overwelmed. by the way, don't cram! for example, study a little every night for a test and work a little everyday on a project. another tip is when you get home from school, watch a little TV and have a snack, that way, you can refresh yourself before plunging into homework.
