You may not have noticed, but warfare has become technologically advanced. Too much so to use a draft. There has been no conscription in the US since the mid-70's, and there won't be again.

I don't believe so. As it has already been stated, even now the women are not sent to the front lines the way men are.
Practically, it makes sense. Women bear children. It may seem like a small, inconsequential task, but its really very counterproductive to force your source of population to go to war. Besides that, there is no way of telling when a woman is pregnant when her number comes up. So they would have to administer pregnancy tests every time a woman was called to the draft. Not only would that waste government money (that they could be using for victory parties) but it would be time consuming andwhen the draft is being used, time is completely of the essence.

As it is, only men have to register for the military when they turn 18 and can be drafted. But! women are not totally left out as you said. We can join or register if we want to at 18, just like boys. Most girls don't register when they turn 18 because if they get a draft request and don't want to go they have the room to say no but why even get it if you will say no? I don't think anyone should be forced to go into war. The draft was canceled for a reason when society was reacting to it. Hopefully the future will be evened out for both genders.

Nope! We have children to bring into this world. We ask for equal oportunities. But it will never be completely equal. Men still get higher pay for the same job. And until a man can pop out babies we will never be equal! Besides, I don't believe that anyone should be forced to enter the military, not men or women. Only those who CHOOSE to put their lives on the line should have to. I can tell you that I would die fighting a draft than to end up in any war that I don't believe in and no one should have to. If it ever became a law that women could be drafted, all they would have to do is to start having children, one after another! It would cause the next baby boom!
Yes, you can get out of it if you have medical problems, and yes asthma is one of them. The last thing they need is you colapsing with an asthma attack in the line of duty. You would be given a medical evaluation. Many avoid military duties due to medical reasons.

i think of the army is powerful journey for absolutely everyone. If the draft is reinstated, women persons could surely be secure. so a ways as attempt against? shall we take one step at a time. i think of ladies persons could be allowed in attempt against, yet differences that are too huge or ensue too today tend to fail, and there are a number of little differences that bypass alongside with consisting of ladies persons interior the draft besides as some huge ones. adult men will could be greater accepting and enable women persons do thier jobs without interference. Social differences will could be made with the way babies are raised and which will take time.

At the present time, young women are not expected to register for Selective Service like men do at age 18, which means there are no plans to draft females.

No. I am among a small minority of women who think we should in fact be in the draft pool as well, and so I send in a card every year. Every year I get a letter back stating that, so sorry, but the law would have to change in order to add my name to the Selective Service register.
I would like to see something like a mandatory militia service at least, maybe a year or 18 months service after high school at the end of which you got citizenship. Yeah, ok, I have probably read Starship Troopers one too many times. :)

Right now no one can be drafted into the military. IF the draft is ever re-instated, since only males have to register when they reach 18, I guess you are "safe."
