I really like this guy at school and I have a small feeling that he likes me also. I am a freshman at a prep school so everyone in my grade just started in September. Most of us did not know anybody so we all to make new friends. It's not like I've known this guy forever or something. We rarely talk mostly because I'm to shy to talk to him. One of the reasons I'm shy is because my friend know I like him and they would make fun of me. Like the time I asked to borrow his markers. I never heard the end of that! Well, I think he likes me too because I often catch him staring at me espiecially at the school dances. I've never gone out with anyone, or asked anyone out. I havn't been kissed or anything so I don't know what to do! (I'm 15, I know it is a little sad.) He is really nice but there is a small problem. He is shorter than me. I personally don't care but will he? I really don't know how to tell him how I feel, I'm so shy! Any help on this? Please and Thank You!

I've always found it easier to write a note or letter than go face to face. You could mail him a letter, if you can work up the nerve. The problem with that is, once you mail it, it will take a couple of days for him to get it...leaving you in agony the entire time, wondering if he got it and what he'll say. Hence, you might try calling him. It's easier than face to face (if you can just grit your teeth and blurt out the words before your shyness gets a chance to rear it's head)...you won't have to see his reaction, or be staring at him as he's contemplating his answer.

Also, never feel ashamed that you haven't been on a date or kissed anyone yet. 15 is still very young to be doing that...I don't care if the media, society in general, or even if your friends say otherwise. I didn't date till I was 16, wasn't kissed till I was 17. You need to take things at your own speed, regardless.

Anyways...stop and think for a while...do you really want to *ask* him out? If he seems to like you, it might not be that long before he asks you out himself. You might try smiling at him more, walking with him to class if you can, talking to him. Even if you two don't end up together, you could make a good friend. It's not a bad idea to get to know him better before going out anways.

Oh...it doesn't matter if he's shorter than you, as long as you don't mind. I wouldn't mention it to him though. If it bothers him, you'll know. Also...he's still young and likely hasn't hit his last growth spurt yet. I had a bf in high school that was 5"4, (I'm 5"9) and now he's 6"2. You're likely pretty much as tall as you're gonna get...give or take 1-2 inches.

So...good luck!

But if you really like this guy take chance if he says no remember that you had the guts to ask him out and there is way more fishes in the sea. Oh and it doesnt matter if he short actuall 65% of the cute boyz are the short one so take sometime and then ask him out see who this guy you like reslly is its your first year

well get some guts and just tell him how you feel and sooner or later you'll learn how to kiss so don't worry about it you've never kissed and the person that's teaching you is the one that has the problem not you and yes i know it's embarrassing and i dont think he'll care if he's the type thats never had a girlfriend
