Hi, I am trying to learn to deal blackjack, recreationally at home at first. I am trying to remember some of the methods that I've seen at the casinos... what is the sequence for the following situation?

1) Dealer busts: do you:
A) Pay off everyone, THEN pick up cards from 1st base to 3rd, THEN pick up your own (dealer's) cards?

Also, is there any rule or method to when you might payoff a $100 (4x$25 green chips) bet with a black chip vs. 4 greens? Also, for a $75 bet, the pay off is $75, but I've seen dealers give you a $100, then take back a green $25. Any method to this either or easy way to figure when this would make sense?
Thanks.

So, this is the correct way?:

1) if dealer busts, pay off everybody (from 1st to 3rd base?) then collect cards from 3rd to 1st with the 3rd base cards on the bottom. Put those in the discard, then collect my dealer cards then put them on top in the discard?

2) if dealer doesn't bust, then evaluate each hand from 1st to 3rd base? pay off or take chips, THEN collect each player's cards at that time. Then put my discards on top.

Is this right in both situations? I guess the end result is the discard has the cards in order... dealer on top, then 3rd thru 1st in that order...?

Thanks.

The best practice is to pick up each hand as it is resolved. That way you are always certain that if the player has cards in front of him you still have to determine the outcome.

Paying all the players before picking up their cards after the dealer busts has the advantage of being faster so more hands are dealt per hour. If you do this pick up the cards starting at third base and slide the cards you have already picked up under the cards of the next hand, keeping all the cards from each hand together. Pick up the dealers card last. You should always be able to take the cards out of the pick-up shoe and reconstruct the hands in case there is a dispute.

As for converting during a payoff, there are two reasons for doing this. The first is chip management. If a player has stacks of green chips in front of him already, you probably would want to pay off four green with a black to keep the number of chips in front of him manageable. This also prevents the dealer from (1) having to stop the game to replenish his chip supply as often and (2) having to stop the game for as long to color up the player when he leaves, possibly giving the dealer an excessive number of lower denomination chips in this tray. The other reason is to encourage a player to make larger bets. If a player is usually betting $25 to $75 he is more likely to place a $100 bet if he has a black chip.

Hi richieZ,
For this Situation You pay first and always pick up your/dealers cards last just in case of a dispute.

And for paying a black chip for 4 greens would be.
1) If the player asks for it.
2) If the dealers rack is running low on green chips
3) If the player has a bunch of green chips (appox. 20 or more) then it would be okay to convert them.
But for the most part just pay them the exact way they bet them. The pit bosses are there to watch your rack and order more chips when the time is right. So don't worry about converting chips until you get used to dealing.

you have pit bosses for a reason. while issues are slow, or perchance in the previous the day gets all started, ask between the pit bosses how they attitude the incredible-ball payouts. (i anticipate you mean while a 37-greenback wager hits a Blackjack.) so as which you do no longer appear like an entire donkey, assure them which you will discern it out on your own, yet you're in hassle-free terms asking in the event that they have a greater hassle-free thank you to be sure unusual 3/2 payouts. (by utilising the way - a 37-greenback Blackjack will pay $55.50 if the on line casino enables 50-cent products as payouts. in addition they might have a chip nicely worth $2.50.)
