How can i get this girl to like me more than a friend?

There is this girl that I like and I can sense she likes me because we talk on instant messenger alot, we text one another alot. If we dont meet up she gets upset that she didnt get a chance to see me. Recently I asked her to be my date to my formal that I have, she said yes. Me and her decided like a long time ago that we didnt want a relationship with anyone at all at that time. And now I feel that things are changing that I have strong feelings about her bc I like her more than a friend. Whenever something is wrong or if she needed help she calls me. Does she like me a lot? Would she be my girlfriend? How can i find out, what can i do or say? Thanks

Read the Kama Sutra :-) Seriously, it has an excellent passage regarding this very issue. But you're asking a few questions.

1.) How can I get her to like me more than as a friend?
Spend even more time with her, pay her close compliments, discuss how attractive she is, progress from slight touching of hands to hugs. Love is friendship plus physical attraction.

2.) Does she like me?
Speak to her friends, or get your friends to talk to her, or get your friends to talk to her friends. Describe your last conversation with her to another friend and ask them to objectively assess whether she seemed to be more interested in you than she needed to be.

3.) Would she be my girlfriend?
Maybe, maybe not. It may happen, and it may not. And if your friendship with her is truly strong, then it will survive whatever happens.

Don't rush things. (I learned my lesson.) First, go on that date to the formal with her. Be a gentleman and have fun. See how things go after that and how you feel about her after that. If you still like her and you sense that she likes you. You can ask her out to some fun outing as a casual time to hang out with each other more. It's best to start a romantic relationship out as friends in my opinion. That's how you know if you DO like the other person or you both should stay friends. Don't call that outing a date. Let things fall together on its own. No rushing it because maybe she's not ready to decide if she likes you beyond friends. I rushed my friend by straight-out telling them that I liked em and they weren't ready to committ or decide what to do (even tho I knew they liked me). The person probably felt rushed for an answer...so I was rejected at that moment after some dilly dallying by em. =( The fact that the person couldn't answer me quickly meant that they weren't ready to say with certainty yes or no. I say go out on casual outings with them more, then it will lead up to the point where hopefully you both enjoy each other's company very much that you will know when it's time to call the outings "dates" and you two as bf and gf.
