Stress. Too much brain activity (such as no quiet time, TV on all the time, computer on all the time). You need to get rid of all of the sensory overload. My eye twitches too, but I know that I need peace and quiet and it goes away.

Yes I also quite often get a twitch in my left eye for some reason. I put it down to lack of sleep because that is the only time when it happens. If it is really bothering you and it happens all the time, not just when you are tired I'd go get it seen to. Good luck :)

Yeah, eyestrain caused by tiredness, fatigue or unhappiness/stress. Happens to me far more than I'd like to admit, usually in the afternoon during an especially trying day at work.
Try getting more sleep regularly and look for things that may be unhealthy for your eyes, such as a computer monitor positioned incorrectly; insufficient light while computing, watching TV, reading or doing crossword puzzles; trying to read text that's too small or concentrating on items too far away (street signs, etc.)
If sleep and small fixes don't take care of the problem in a few days, you may need to see an eye doctor about glasses or contacts.
Hope you're able to solve the problem quickly!

The easiest and safest explanation could be tiredness, as in lack of sleep and/or prolonged reading, even prolonged exposure to your monitor screens, or vitamin deficiency.
But this could also be a sign of something other than the ones mentioned above.
If you think you're having enough rest and relaxation and does not subject your delicate eyes to these examples, I suggest you consult your GP about this to make sure that this is not a sign of an illness that would require treatment.
Sleep early tonight. That's a start. Sleep well.

i have been having the same recurring problem recently. I certainly dont feel stressed although i do have a 1 year old daughter and we have been having problems with our boiler lately. My eye twitches seem to flare up whenever the hot water system breaks down. Then when the hot water is back on, it goes away again!! Strange huh.

Stress could be part of it. Are you getting enough sleep? Taking vitamins? Try to find yourself a few minutes a day to totally relax and stretch. B vitamins and potassium might help. The other idea is to get your eyes checked, because if you are straining your eyes to see, you may need glasses. Good Luck in figuring it out.

Tiredness probably, but it could be eye strain and you need glasses. If I was you I'd go to the opticians anyway. they can find out if there is anything wrong.

believe it or not, simple lack of sleep.everyone gets this from time to time, any age,any gender.several nights of at least 8 hours of high quality, uninterrupted sleep will cure this.it has nothing to do with needing to see an opthomologist-its stress combined with lack of sleep.
