My doctor says I'm high risk for getting depression also. Does anyone have any ideas to calm down, and stop being so worried and anxious all the time?

Umm, maybe a diet change and a gym membership so you can workout. As for the diet, check out Jayrobb.com and click on " The Fat Burning Diet." Don't let the name of the diet fool you it's a good diet.

Hey, don't worry, you aren't alone. I'm 16 and last year was diagnosed for depression. Don't listen to the adults who say "oh, you are just a kid, you can't have that. It just means you're a teenager." WRONG. They are the ones who have no idea how you feel so ignore them. At first, my parents wouldn't believe me but I finally convinced them that I needed to see a doctor. Listen, you should definatly keep having regular visits to your doctor. You could have just been in a down period then and it all poured out or it could be the beginning of something more serious. It is better to be safe than sorry, trust me. I hope that you start feeling better. I did once I was put on zoloft. As for the calming down part? Pick a REALLY trusted friend and set up a time every night to talk on the phone. It will give you something to look forward to in the day and it will let you let out all of the problems you had during the day. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do great!

Hey girl...it's ok I had a nervous breakdown when I was 15. They put me on medicine though and it made life easy. You must talk, talk, talk... tell anyone who will listen how you are feeling, get it off your chest. Holding it makes it worse.. Are you seeing a therapist? Its ok to do that, noone but your family needs to know and they work wonders. Maybe you will need some medicine...maybe. If you can't make it work talk with your doctor. Remeber to take one thing at a time, and remember you can't do it all or fix it all...if you were meant to that God would have given you a wand. Start a journal..great stuff. Even do one on your computer...show your doctor your feelings. They love that stuff. Find a talent or pastime. Singing, painting, needlework, spend time with friend. Surround your self with things that make you feel calm and avoid the pressure situations for now. Teen years are tough enough with out extra pressures. Boys are great, but sometimes me time is better, because then you set yourself up with "doe he like me or not" that will stress ya out. Find yourself before you go looking for others and breathe.....slowly in and out. Good luck!!!

I am also a teenager and I have been having breakdowns since I was 13. I found that listening to calm music, like rainstorms and celtic music works good. I also use meditation for calming myself down when I need it.

I'm a teen and I have some stressful moments too.
Maybe you could try to just sit down and have some quiet time to yourself. Don't think about anything that worries you but have some relaxing time.
Try doing something you love to do also to keep your mind off of things.
Hope this helps!

You want to get a diagnosis...like anxiety disorder or whatever. The combination of medication and counseling works better than either one alone. Help is out there.

Bonjour Lillie!

Faites attention!
