I recently had my appendix out in the ER. I was sent home the next day. One of my incisions, I can see has popped a stitch, and is slightly open. I am experiencing a pinching feeling and a sharp pull all over the incision. WHat should I do? I don't have insurance, so is it really necessary for me to go back to the hospital?

Once the wound has healed here is info that may come in useful.

Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.

Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.

The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).

For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

there have been many extreme issues from appearing any variety of nerve block below standard anesthesia, a state wherein the affected person can't enable you know if something is going incorrect. Giving an epidural below standard anesthesia might in hassle-free terms be perfect for an uncooperative new child. If this is being accomplished for an operation, your anesthesiologist can gently sedate you for the technique, and you won't even keep in mind getting the epidural later. I even have accomplished hundreds of epidurals wakeful on sufferers in hard artwork, and that i've got had an interscalene nerve block (interior the neck) for shoulder surgical operation while i became wakeful, and it ain't all that undesirable. A morphine pump might artwork superb, yet this could have skill issues of arising you give up respiratory, itching, nausea, constipation, and insufficient soreness alleviation for some. this is the area of doing the epidural, to keep away from all of those issues. besides the incontrovertible fact that, in case you have been definitely frightened of needles, a morphine pump could be superb. in the experience that your surgical operation became postponed for numerous days so as which you will get carry of inpatient scientific care, you're the two very ill or you have one very, very considerable operation, and in the two case you're probably going to have greater advantageous than basically an IV, perchance an arterial line, central venous rigidity line, perchance an NG tube, perchance a bladder catheter. while in comparison with those issues, an epidural is going to be exceptionally gentle in assessment. basically my opinion, wish it facilitates.

I hope that the ER has a triage nurse. Go to the ER and let them determine if there's a problem.... If not, you just go home. But don't do nothing. Good luck.
