I am a 34 year old female. For the last 6 weeks I have been getting sharp pinching pains between my legs when i cough, sneeze or bend forward. It is only on the right side. It feels like an electric shock. Sometimes the whole area on the right side gets a little tingly and it extends into the buttock area, but for the most part, the pain is isolated to that one little area. Sorry for the tmi here, but it is kind of to the right of my labial area. Thanks for any help you guys can give. It just isn't getting any better.

Nope, doesn't sound like sciatica. That usually starts in low back/butt and it's down the back of your leg. Not in the groin area. You might want to make an appointment with the gyno. to see if you have some sort of female issues going on?

I think sciatic pain in in the low back.

This sounds much more like the Endometrial pain I had from Endometriosis. In my 30's it got so bad if the pain hit me driving I would have to raise myself off of the car seat. Much like a hand full of knitting needles in the you know where. My ovaries were a mess as was my entire abdominal cavity.

This happened the year I was 37. Anti inflammitories were not on the market yet then. So I had a complete hysterectomy.

You might give Motrin or a generic Ibuprofen a try and see if it helps. If there is some inflammation in the pelvic area, it couldn't hurt.

Good luck, I hope something helps soon.

See a chiropractor to make sure things are where they belong and a massage therapist to help loosen the muscles

Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.

Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.

The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).

For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

Sounds like Sciatica, and heat and cold will help relieve the pinched nerve area. Als try lite stretching exercises if you can. Stretching the spine can help alleviate the pressure on the sciatic nerve. Good Luck.

Usually sciatic pain starts in the lower back and run downs the leg, it is excruciating. What you are suffering does not strike me as sciatic, go to your doctor asap to get a diagnose, six weeks of pain is more than enough.

Good luck!

Cheers
