Actually, virtually every single classical, neo-classical, realistic or neo-realistic artist who ever painted works that have structures like buildings and bridges, walls and rooms, etc., had to focus on perspective. From Rembrandt to Goya to Van Gogh, where structures were included in the paintings the basic pov formula has been employed.

Study Da Vinci's 'The Last Supper' and you'll notice that it is symmetrically perfect. Or look at the Edward Hopper paintings or the Maxwell Parish paintings. David Hockney is a well-known living artist who relies on perspective.

The exception to this is with the surrealists who often distorted perspective for effect.
