Cats go into heat every 2 weeks. You need to spay her for her to stop. There are low cost clinics everywhere. Unspayed females have a 70% higher chance of getting cancer.

Yeah, PixieCat has the right idea. They go in and out of heat until they become preggers or get spayed. Thats why we like to spay them at around six months of age. Before all this happens. Next you'll have every tom cat for miles around at your front door. See if your area has a spay program that will help with the cost.

They are seasonal, mainly spring summer they could go week on week off, they tend to slow down in the colder months, but if they are indoors and house is heated then can become confused and think its summer. No there is nothing you can do besides getting her spayed, its the only way. If you do mate her she will go into heat straight away again and then the cycle starts all over again , but with kittens to think about. Its worth the money getting her done to save your sanity at least. It can become pretty full on.

PLEASE GET YOUR CAT SPAYED!!!
Cats can come into heat 2-3 times a year and produce litters each time.
She's going in and out because her body wants to reproduce. It's a natural biological function. Some cats come in and out, in and out, over and over again until they get bred or spayed.
And, if you're thinking about allowing her to be bred just to shut her up and to save money you're an irresponsible pet owner.
Do you know how many healthy, adorable cats and kittens are put to death every year just because there aren't enough homes for all of them? I live in a relatively medium size city and our shelter euthanizes 300-350 (on average) cats and kittens each MONTH. Yes - each MONTH!!! due to people who don't love their pets enough to spay them! The figures for puppies and dogs is slightly higher.
Please contact your local animal shelter and see if there are any low-cost spay/neuter clinics in your area or if there are any voucher programs available. If not, call around to all the vets in the phone book for their prices. After you choose a vet, check into him or her to see if they are any good. We have a local vet who is excellent with dogs but not so great with cats. He does NOT work on my cats - I use the local cat vet (yes, he specializes). AND - do not buy into all the old wives tales about this or that that your cat will do - or be- after the surgery. ASK the vet or his assistant. They won't think you are stoopid. They will think that you care enough to be informed.
PLEASE SPAY YOUR CAT!!!

Cats tend to come on heat during the months with longer daylight hours, but with artificial lighting this can be every month! You could get her spayed, unless you intend to breed, or there is a long term acting hormone contraceptive if you want her to remain entire.

Unfortunately, it seems like you kitty is at the prime age for mating, if you get it laid, it won't make a difference 5 months from now, if you get it spaded, it's kind of mean...so either let the cat out the house sometime, or hang in there..

Good luck

Please get your cat spayed. They can reproduce like anything (I adopted a pregnant cat and didn't realise how fast she'd come back on heat. She was pregnant again very quickly and finding good homes for kittens isn't easy).

Plus the vet said she was a lot less likely to get some form of cancers once she was spayed.

Why do you not want to get your cat spayed? You are really doing her a disservice by keeping her intact. It is miserable being horny with nobody around to help out - so you either need to get her a kitty dildo, or get her fixed.

If you do not, she might run away and get killed by a car, dog, etc. Or she will end up pregnant and her babies will suffer as well as other kittens looking for a home in the world.

Definitely get her spayed so you do not become a grandmother. Do not get her laid so there are kittens born no one wants. To answer your question they can do this every 14 to 21 days until they get pregnant. The cycle depends on the amount amount of daylight and the season changing. Does that sound like something you want to contend with?
