Manuna Kea and still is (you said on earth and didn't mention it had to be above sea level).
Mauna Kea in Hawaii is the world's tallest if you measure it from its base, which is well below sea level, to its summit; its total height is about 29,796, or about 770 feet taller than Mt Everest, even though about 2/3 of it is under water.
