There is nothing wrong with that but there are better ways to meet people. (I have been tempted too at times, but there is no promise that those men are nicer or more family oriented then the bloke from the bar.)
Try taking classes localy or donating time to things like habitat for humanity.

Well... it wouldnt be horrible, but it might be considered dishonest by the guy you meet. Why do you think he goes to the church? He is interested in someone who shares the same beliefs. Dont try to start a relationship based on a lie... it wont work. Just my advice though...

I think you're jumping the gun a bit in assuming that really nice, decent, wholesome, well-mannered, "Mr. Right" type guys hang out in church... The only difference between people in church and the scum elsewhere, is the people in church are much more talented at covering up their filth.
Only join a church if it's something you want to do for yourself, for your own reasons, that have nothing to do with trying to meet someone.

It depends on the kind of church you join. It might be worth a go. Look for a conservative tradition church group. Personally, I couldn't be bothered looking for a woman at any church because the church sermons generally all give me headaches.

I don't see the harm, I am a christian but I am not that religous really. I wouldn't have a problem dating an atheist.
