If someone owns the new Lexus that auto parallel parks itself and accidentally hits a parked car...whose fault is it? The car owner or Lexus?

You actually control the brakes when its in auto-park mode, probably specifically for that reason :) It steers and everything but you have to stop it!

It's Lexus's fault if no one is in the car while its operating. It's the car owner's fault if another vehicle is damaged while he/she is behind the wheel. Now, I don't know about you but every car I've ever seen has had a driver/operator behind the wheel so I think the first scenario is impossible. Looks like the car owner will be faulted.

It's the owner's fault. When you shift into reverse, the system says to look around your vehicle before backing. Lexus clearly puts the responsibility on the driver.

It won't matter because the system dosn't work worth a crap. Seen it on Good Morning America, the stupid Lexus traitor was trying to demonstrate it three times. All three times the system refused to park by itself. So much for the Jap ingenuity.
I'm so sick of how over rated those crap Lexus's are. People are fools who buy them!
