Well, I think monotheism in general is dangerous, since most of its religions involve the forced conversion of others. Polytheism, deism, and animism are all rather peaceful, but monotheistic religions tend to have more of the "either-believe-in-God-or-suffer-for-eternity" outlook, which sparks more discrimination than other forms of religion. This discrimination can lead to suffering and rebellion/war in many cases.

However, Christianity (and its sects; Mormonism is included) and Islam are probably the biggest threats, since Judaism has never really been a majority religion (this keeps it from holding much sway over majorities and goverment, which then means that little discrimination against minorities can be achieved). Christianity and Islam, on the other hand, both believe in that nonbelievers aren't as good as Christians/Muslims and cause a rather gung-ho conversion/conquest philosophy to emerge in their [extremist] followers. The sway that these two religions can also hold over governments can cause rather conservative thinking involving the sciences, which then creates major intellectual boundaries (examples are Christians against evolution and safe-sex [condom] teachings in school curriculums and bans on stem-cell research). These intellectual boundaries can negatively impact societies by hurting economies, which then further cripples the civilization on a whole.

i'm an agnostic Christian because of the fact i've got self assurance in jesus teachings concerning philantropy and the thank you to get alongside peacefully along with your neighbor. although, i've got self assurance that in the time of a few sense religions are mandatory. human beings by utilising nature tend to lose administration of an ordered gadget or society. supressing faith could be somewhat chaotic. some human beings could desire to have self assurance in something as a level to maintain going. it is the way they have been raised and that's complicated to take them faraway from that. so i think of the international could be abetter place if there have been no religions which it may do the comparable if the international could be all religious

Atheism, Occults, Cults are the top three groups.

Atheism is not so much the atheist, but rather the one who does not accept God. Therefore, they might be any religion, except for the one that accepts the truth. This is bad because they make themselves god, do whatever is right in their own eyes, therefore they make "legal" all forms of all crime. This is extremely dangerous to all society.

The occults turns the truth into a lie by adding deceiption to the truth. This is done in many ways. Sometimes is it like adding poison to candy, sometimes it is like a snake oil salesman, sometimes it is like, a legal contract where one hidden clause guarantees that you will lose everything. They worship anything or everything but the true God, therefore, society must watch out for them because they might actually worship and honor crime (to various degrees).

Cults vary, but they make someone or something a god who is not god. This might be through the occult, but usually this is through charisma. People look for something, the seek something, and usually they know that they need it, but what they really need is truth and God, justice and righteousness, freedom and love. These things often scare them, sometimes because it seems to be too good to be true (because it is free), sometimes because they just cannot trust it (because of their pasts), and sometimes because they just flat-out reject God.

Cults are extremely powerful and influential. They certainly include the religious aspects of the Nazis. JWs, Islam, Catholicism, any religion that uses compelling techniques which involve religious, emotional, or mental appeals rather than just the plain truth fall into this category to some degree.

Cults divert the flow of people away from God and heaven to "some place else", to "someone else". That is their purpose. This destroys lives, families, countries, and even worlds.

All of the major ones.

The more people there are who fanatically believe in something, the more danger there is. It's funny because religious people think they're so much better than cult members...it's the same thing, just to different degrees.

wow, tough question....I would have to say Christianity, due to the fact that it emcompasses Catholocism and Evangelical churches, both of which look to hold back science and thier discoveries. I also think that they are dangerous due to the fact that they have such a large influence in the political decision being made today, holding back and stopping legislation that could be very beneficial to society as a whole.

Right now its islam. 99% of all terrorists right now are muslims, and they are getting financial and military support from other islamic countries. Iran is set to use nuclear weapons on Israel and the US. despite warnings from the rest oftheworld. Muslims just don't care who they destroy as long as they win in the end. Mecca really needs to be destroyed, and islam needs to be outlawed

There are no dangerous religions, but only dangerous believers.
Dangerous believers are false believers, believers in disguise and believers of something against morality and divinity.

My opinion is all religions are dangerous to some degree. There are fanatics in just about every religion that make them this way. I'm glad I'm an Atheist.
