i personally like the curlers that you put in wet hair and sleep on. they are comfy, give GREAT body and curls, adn from there you can pull it back, or keep top pieces straight, pull them back and clip it with a shiny clip, and have the rest curled. Also french braids, buns, and occasionally professional styles are nice. i also like really high on the head pony tails.

wow your hair sounds just like mine! haha i had a perm about 2 years ago and still have a bit of a wave.. my hair used to be pin straight..

you could try cute up dos like on www.seventeen.com or try to scrunch it..

maybe cut it shorter with short layers?

Velcro rollers....They will give your hair body.
The larger the roller, the less curl.
The smaller the roller, the more curl you will get.
add some curl and wear it upswept.
maybe have your hairdresser add some subtle layers to your hair...to bulk it up a bit.

Spiral curls, banana curls, um...if you don't want curls, you can pull it back, braid it, put it in a bun, all sorts of things, maybe get a new hair cut.

you could part your hair to one side, and cut the piece in your face at a slant so it stays out of your eyes and is easy to manage at the same time.
