Too start with just interduce urself. Most people will be impressed that u got the courage to talk 2 someone knew. I used to struggle with the same problem, u just need to give subtle hints that u r interested and they will get the message.

Introduce yourself, and mention what you saw in their profile that you liked. Or say..."We have the same interest in ____, what you think..." something along those lines. It's really not that hard...Just don't lie.

you tell something about yourself but not too revealing... i mean, since you are on 1st stage only, just minimize the info that you are revealing. you can tell her, "im mac and i work for ibm. i saw your PROFILE on this site and found that we have lots of things in common....yadah...yadah..yadah.." its important that you said you saw her PROFILE and not her pic so as not to think that you only found her interesting becoz on how she looks... good luck...

just be yourself, PM them and stuff, but don't be too grabby, this will scare them off. join one of the groups they're in and then pm them about it
