There is a bias toward countries that are considered wealthier. If you are coming to the US to study, you are required to give the school an I-20 form proving the financial resources to maintain your studies and living expenses. That is required for any international student. If you can't prove that, you will not be granted a US education visa.

People in China desperately want to come to the US, too. They face the same hurdles as the people from Africa.

simply because RACIAL DISCRIMINATION is still exisiting in that country. Evenif the government said NOT anymore, well look at the people around you especially the white americans!!! just take a look at my county's (Phils.) situation, if a filipino applies for a tourists visa, its good for 1 out of 100 to get approved, even if you met all the requirements, but if chinese people esp from hongkong apllied for a tourist visa, instantly just 1 day they can go for a tour!!! Because they thinked all filipinos are poor, and we belonged to the third world country!!better for the chinese fish vendor that they will get the US trust than an engineer filipino.

There are a lot of native Africans here in Las Vegas. A lot of them drive taxi cabs. One of the biggest problems here in the US is that people come in here through the Mexican border causing other people who want to get in here to the last in line.

There are more people who want to come than we have room for, so there is a long backlog. Remember, our own people need to go to college, too. There is the diversity visa, which you should be eligable for though.
