So I wrote to this guy I went out on a couple of dates with and i wrote to him about the things that have been going on at school (like how awkward it's been) and how much I like him...this was his response:
Yeah, it's been pretty awkward... sorry about that. And my friends are definitely assholes... but the gagging noises are completely un-related to you, we've been doing **** like that for quite a while heh, heh. Anyways, I'm kind of just non-confrontational I guess, which in situations like these is kind of a bad thing heh, heh. Whatever though right? You're still a pretty chill gal, and I guess I'll see you on Monday. the test was pretty nasty by the way, he told us that we didn't know how to do two of the questions on it and so he would "count them for less" ... great.

Later

i really like this guy and i want to casually date but it seems that he doesn't know what do to in these situations.

what do you get from his message to me?
advice?

p.s. we've been on 2 dates before. if he's shy, do i have to keep asking him? like, i know he'll say yes if i do but the whole thing is kinda annoying. having to keep asking him i mean.

I applaud you at taking the initiative on asking him out instead of waiting around, wondering "what if." Did he realize it was a date? Maybe he thought you two are friends just hanging out. But if indeed it was an actual date, you've done enough by asking him out twice. If he can't take the hint and ask you out, he probably isn't too interested in you. Just pull back a bit and see what happens. Don't email or call him, let him contact you. Sometimes two people just don't connect. There isn't anything wrong with that.
