Your grand-daughter's OB/GYN should be able to get this for her if she asks, and insurance (or public aid) should pay for it, Sorry about your little grand-baby.

You can buy them at target or toys r us. They are made by the brand BeBe I believe I think they are called Halo Monitors or something like that. I bought one a couple of years ago and it ran about $60, and I'm sure they've probably gone down by now. You might check ebay too! They are wonderful little gizmo's and they work wonderully. I never had any problems with the one I had...My daughter scooted too far down in her crib one night and the pad couldn't sense her breath movements and it did alarm. Thankfully she was fine, but I knew that it worked!!

Make sure the doctor who delivers the baby knows about your concerns. Your daughters OB_GYN can test the infant and will order an apnea test and all equipment as needed. My granddaughter needed one for a short time. Paid for by CHIPS

I like this one, it's $85 on Amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/Angelcare-Movement-Sensor-Monitor-Parents/dp/B0000E262S/sr=8-1/qid=1172446180/ref=pd_bbs_1/105-9715036-4916469?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products

We bought one with only one monitor and wish we had two. She's almost 3 and we still use the monitor part (without the motion detector pad) since her bedroom is far away from where we watch TV at night after she's gone to sleep.

they usually range from $80.00 and up depending on how many different features you want. I bought one for my little nephew on line that had walkie talkie type monitors that you could place in different rooms. It was Baby Sense II, here is the link .
