I think so because frozen foods seems to contain a lot of water, once you cook it the water evaporates.

It depends on what the food is.

Thawing out frozen food can make it lose water by drainage, then it will weigh less. For example thawing shrimp or fish will create a puddle, but thawing out frozen french fries won't.

Freezing food in itself does not add any weight as compared to the raw food before freezing it.

Are we talking about the same piece of food? Let's say you have a carton of egg beaters that you put in the freezer.

It will not weigh more when it is frozen. It will be harder, which may give the illusion that it weighs more.

For it to weigh more, more matter would have to be created, which is impossible.

There may be water droplets that collect on the food, however those should not be considered to be part of the food itself, they are just a byproduct of freezing.

Only if some of the water leaches out after thawing. If you get some freezer burn the frozen would weight less.
Freezer burn= going from a solid state (ice ) to a vapor (water vapor) without going thru a liquid state (water) called sublimation.

Yes, when you freeze things, very small particles of water gather inside and on the outside and freeze, and water is quite heavy, not much in it but there is a difference. do you notice when you that items thaw they leave puddles of water underneath them, that's all the water escaping and making the item weigh less

Frozen food can actually weigh less because the food is not water-logged (depending on the food)

it depends on how it's frozen, in the regular freezer it can absorb moisture and "gain" weight if it's dry frozen then it won't
