How to Best Scan B&W document?

Hi,
all Attempts to scan B&W document using B&W scanner option gives bad results. when trying gray scale option I have, as usual, larger sized file. Is there any program that solve this problem by converting gray image to B&W with no lose of quality, Is there any other method to solve the problem.

There really isn't a way that I know of. The closest thing would be to run an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software program on it to convert it to a text file or .doc or .pdf.

save it as an editable word document also using a lazer printer works wonders
