- You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.

- You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."

- While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.

- You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.

- You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.

I deny nothing, I just don't WORSHIP other Gods

Where did you think Darwin's primordial muck was found in a sterile petrie dish? Darwin and Judeo-Christians have the same view, organics came from inorganic, it's just that subtle deal of how and we don't subscribe to randomism.

God and Allah got their own rights. It's that prophet with 6 year old girls that bothers me a tad or do you approve of that kind of thing.

I don't laugh at nothing.

Age and time is relative, Einstein said so and so does Hawking. Dr. Carl Sagan says the whole universe is only a month old and man was here in the first second of the first minute of the first hour of the last day of the month and we're still in that hour. So according to a Cornell University Cosmologists we are a few seconds or minutes old.

My religion says only those without the MARK OF THE BEAST will get away from it all. Anyone can get or have that mark, even a good Jewish boy or nice Christian girl. YOU may not have the mark and might get an opporunity to go, unless you choose not to. Free will, you know. You can refuse salvation if you so desire. God won't feel offended.

Why was I taught by Science in Schools that Pluto was a planet and there are 9 planets in the solar system and why didn't it snow today like the WEATHER scientist said it would last night! Maybe he should be fired for incompetance. Get his PH D taken away for failing to master Meteorology. Or did God (force MAjure) interfer with willful intent to make him look bad!

I don't expect prayers to be answered. God has his own agenda.

Finally one thing you said has a morsel of truth. Atheists do seem to know an awful lot about things they don't subscribe to or beleive in. Gee, why is that! God only knows! Of course most Atheists don't know or acknowledge that the current theory of the universe came from a Catholic Priest who proposed the Primodial atom, said we'd find cosmic background radiation of the event and said we'd discover stars and galaxies are travelling away from each other. Einstein said that was the best description of the start of all things he ever heard. Hubble proved the red shift some years later and scientsts at GE heard the background noise from the cosmic blast and Dr. Hoyle's Steady State theory got displaced by what he joking termed at Big Bang, the genisis like explaination of how things started that came from the equations of a Catholic Priest with a PHD in Physics.

God's one great physicist and engineer, that's why you have to humble yourself to God. Anyone that good deserves respect.

For someone who has never met me you sure seem to think you know a lot about me. Yes, I'm a Christian. Yes, I take the Bible to be the only true Word of God given to mankind. If someone agrees with me then fine but if they don't it's fine as well. I don't laugh at others, no, my face doesn't turn purple over the things you mentioned and I don't feel insulted by the scientist. I don't have to do any of those things because I know who I am in Christ and that is all that matters. Christ has given us free will to believe as we choose and if we are secure in those beliefs then we have no reason to feel the way you think we do. I don't know where you get your information but it's not from Christians. The things that do bother me are
the thousands of innocent infants that are murdered at the
hands of their own mothers ever month
gang related killings of innocent people
people being free to drink alcohol or use drugs and then drive
on our roads killing innocent people
children becoming murderers before they really understand
what life is about
children loosing their innocence at the hands of someone
selfishly gradifying themselves sexually with that child
children going to bed hungry
and it goes on and on.
The one thing about all of this is that mankind has the power to change all of this but instead of doing that, people like you spend your time and energy bashing Christians who don't really care what you have to say about them anyway. My beliefs will never change, no matter what you or anyone else says. So save your breath.

Very thought provoking statement!
You expertly define what I would call a "robot" christian. They are told what to think, what to believe, what is good, bad, right and wrong. They are told never to question what they are told because that would be "doubt". They are instructed to read their Bible and memorize it but not to worry about understanding it...it will all be made plain in Heaven. Emotions are kept in check unless their beliefs are questioned. Then they become offended, try to defend what they believe and find themselves unable to do so.
Been there...Glad I'm not anymore!

You are someone who claims to be a fellow Christian and you are accusing me of the above statements. You don't know me. So, let me tell you that I am a believer in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I know that He is God's only begotten Son. I accept Him as my Lord and Savior. I know that He has forgiven all of my sins by dieing on the cross for my sins.

What other people believe is their right. My job on this site and in my life is to live for Christ, love other people and to tell other's the good news of Jesus.

I have learned from God that He is real and loves me therefore I have no problem with what anyone might think about me. It is not my business. It is His. Peace

Well then, I am a Christian. And I really don't have all the time in the world like you have to sit and try to prove your ignorant points wrong, that in all reality will one day be proven to you when you are burning in Hell thinking "Gee, if only I didn't post that question on Yahoo! answers, and instead took my time to ask Jesus to be my Lord and Savior." So, yeah. Have a nice night :-)

I say no to the whole list. I'm a very open-minded Christian. I believe in Christ and follow Christ and that alone is the definition of a Christian. It's just a matter of opinion to each individual on what it means exactly to "follow Christ." In my individual opinion, Christ has an open mind too.

You sound like a very intelligent person, but sometimes our intelligence gets in the way of coming to the Lord with a childlike (simple) faith. God gave us gifts to use for His Glory, but unfortunately you seem to be using yours to disprove the gift giver. The bible warns us about satan who is very cunning and deceives us with his lies. He too uses intellectual logic as he twists scripture. The difference is that satan knows the truth, refuses it and tries to deceive us so we will follow him to his final doom (hell), therefore his motive is very evil. I don't think your motives are evil, I just think you are ignorant of the meaning of scriptures. Anyone can take bits + pieces of God's Word, leaving things out and make it sound nonsensical. It would be like trying to make a cake and leaving out key ingredients. The end result is the same. Well your end result in leading others astray is the same --you WILL have to answer to God at Judgment for this, along with all your other choices. You can turn truth into foolishness all you want, but the END RESULT will be the same for ALL.. Believers will be in Heaven, unbelievers will be in Hell for eternity. God's judgment IS NOT based on our opinions. We Christians follow the one and only TRUE GOD who is Sovereign over YOU and all of us. It's a shame you are wasting the Gift God gave you for satan's cause, not His. May God touch your heart with truth.

However, may I suggest that you be very careful getting into you car and starting the motor. Someone might not like what you said and try to bump you off.

Thanks for the question!!!

"People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, People may Accuse you of Selfish, Ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be Honest and Frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis,
it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway."
