HERES THE DEAL... Ive done things in the past that wouldn't make any parent proud (lied about where i was going, gotten caught with a boy in my bed, gotten caught stealing etc.). But all of those events hapenned about 3 years ago. As of now, my parents and I share a stable relationship and everything is great at home. Im not the girl i used to be, IVE BEEN VERY GOOD! Doing great in college, respecting their wishes, and just about everything to please them. Im 19, almost 20. I think im too old to have a curfew (which is pathetically still at 11pm)How do I get them to extend that? How do i get them to trust that I can take care of myself? ...and this summer im planning to go on a trip with my boyfriend. How do i get them to allow me to go? Whenever i bring up the subjects of extending the curfew or going on a trip, i feel there is no compromise. i dont think its fair, i feel so trapped. what can I do? HELP.

i feel that if you are living at home and they are footing the bill, financing your education, then you will have to do obey the house rules. As far as your trip with your boyfriend, that has nothing to do with the house rules, so go. Unless they are going to be kicking you out. Maybe you should consider getting a place of your own or living in a dorm.

Lose the boyfriend, and instruct you're no longer a pot head. Sneaking around with him isn't a thank you to regain it. Why might they provide you greater freedom, while you're in hassle-free terms going to do what they do no longer want you to do? It takes years to earnings have confidence. yet in hassle-free terms an afternoon to lose it. think of problematical approximately that. they have each maximum appropriate to do what they're doing. Be grateful that is in hassle-free terms that.
