I'm currently a Soph. in college and I'm wanting to AFROTC,but the question is how many people in the Air Force have ADD and how often does the Air Force reject someone with ADD?? And what uniforms are issued to AFROTC cadets?

Those medically diagnosed with asthma or who have been prescribed Ritalin or any other medication for ADD and/or ADHD at any point in their life may be precluded from military service, but they may be waived depending on diagnosis and treatment

if you are on meds for ADD, you are DQ'd until you have been off of them a year and function normally during that year.

Having ADD is not an automatic DQ, but how you function could be. The AF is downsizing currently, so anyone that requires any kind of waiver.. most likely will NOT get in, because they have plenty of people who meet all the requirements without needing a waiver.

ADD is a disqualifying condition for the AF.

The Air Force is EXTREMELY selective. They usually save waivers for something NOT medical (like someone with a GED and 2 years of college) If you even have acid reflux disease, you can't get in the AF. there is NO way you can get through Basic and technical school with ADD. You can't take any kinds of medication during basic. Asthma is an automatic disqualifier.

I am not sure, but my guess is that the A.F. will not accept anyone with ADD. I was kicked out of pilot training just because my nose ran in cold weather. They are really, really fussy about things like that. Sorry.
