Soon I will be singing at my church & I am so nervous!!
I am singing "Big Enough" by Ayiesha Woods.
So what should I do to stay calm?
What should I do before I sing so I will sing good?
What should I do If I mess up?
It`s my first time singing in front of anyone & I am scared!

1st of all....
try to breathe. it may not help much, but control your breathing and your stomach will not feel SO fluttery.
2nd, if this is our first performance, than it it PERFECTLY natural to be EXTREMELY nervous. most people find that after many performances the stage fright will subside, so the best thing to do is accept. you will be nervou.s
3rd-try your best to concentrate on the positive. so what if you mess up?
sure you will feel bad, but always keep in mind that the audience wont know if
you keep a straight face and act like nothing happened.
4, warm up with scales, sounds, ect to get your voice prepared and to get your mind off everything, lose yourself in you voice.

please dont be scared and have a wonderful peformance.
LUCK!

PS-a tip- one way i often get rid of nerves (this will sound funny) is to simply make an "sssssssssssssss" sound. people MAY think youre weird, but it truly helps. trust me. nerves are like GONE when i do that for a while.

The best thing to overcome your anxiousness is to breathe. I know its really basic but when the butterflies come in heavy then its time to breathe. So do it right now and practice breathing. BREATHE baby BREATHE! you must remember to breathe at all times especially when your singing, and don't forget the audience is on your side, they want to see you do good and they will make sure that you will do good no matter how good you do. And then Breathe a litle more through your nose as slow as as you can. Also wearing black slacks is a good idea because you know... well um did I forget to tell you to breathe, ok Breathe a little more. Did that calm you down any? Another good thing to do is to practice at the place that you are actually going to be performing at. If at church go there sometime beforehand and picture yourself up there and actually physically go up there and give it a whirl.Sing your heart out your audience will appreciate it. They already appreciate you and couldn't do it without YOU see how important you are. Thats cool. Practicing in front of others is another good tip. Then it becomes second nature. Once you are done when that day comes and its all over you'll wonder why you were so scared. You can do it and I give you full authority to do a good job especially on a Sunday you'll have heavenly help and a couple of angels too. So don't worry about doing good just rehearse in front of your family or friends to get the hang of it or try singing in front of someone you don't know just to get you used to singing in front of an audience. Visualize your success, and above all Don't forget to breathe, big slow controlled breathing after all you are a singer breathing is your thang. And it helps too/....

Before you go sing, have someone who can play piano help you warm up by singing scales, so that you hit a couple notes higher, and a couple notes lower than you have to in the song. It's natural to be nervous the first time you sing for a crowd, so practice in front of friends and family. Make sure you are confident in yourself. If you say to yourself, "I will not mess up" you won't! Sing the song a couple times before going on, and be comfortable with it. I'm sure you'll do great!

Why are you worrying? It's church; no one is going to (or should) tell you something or do something nasty you if you mess up. Let me give you a piece of advice, and this is what I remember: "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". If you go up there and mess up (which you are not going to), then you will come down with experience, and there is no way that you can do the same mistake and not know what to do. Do your thing!
