"Do not the disbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were fused then We ripped them asunder, and We created from water every living thing, do they not believe?" The noble Qur'an, Al-Anbia(21):30.

Just a thought.

Not without torturing the language or the science. First, you have to choose which Biblical creation account to use, there are at least two, and probably more, creation stories in the Old Testament.

Then you have to explain how the creation accounts have light before the sun was created, explain why there is no hint of space or other planets or anything like the Big Bang, in fact, nothing that was not known to humans at the time the creation stories were created (not written, which was much later) is included. You'd think God would give us a clue that our generation could look at and say, Aha! Only God would have known that at that time. No animals not known to the Semitic tribes. No hint of other continents, planets (even though there were stars known to wander and even pre-Christian Arabic cultures knew they were different from stars).

Not really.

If I go for any creation myth, I prefer that of the Sefer Yetzirah. At least it makes sense with my view of divinity. Essentially, all that is, is an emanation of "God." It's still not greatly scientific, but as a metaphor, it makes sense.

Language is a basis of ideas.

There are thousands of creation stories across the face of our dear Mother Earth. Sciences (on the other hand) tend to agree in most areas of her history. Hmmmm.......

Genisis exactly agrees with science when you interpret it correctly and quit thinking of a day as 24 hours. The same word for "Day" in Hebrew means "Epoch"

Science explains how, religion explains why. Sometimes they contradict, sometimes they don't.

In terms of creation, they contradict.

No, not even coincidence. Not even close. The "creationists" have been trying it on for years.
